Workshop: Willow Weaving
Saturday 14 January, 10am-4pm, cost £55 (max 8)
Make a willow bird feeder to hang in the garden with experienced willow weaver Heather Dawe. Spend an enjoyable day learning about willow – the different sorts and the preparation, and a variety of weaving techniques, then make two traditional basket bases and combine them to make a hanging bird table. The course is suitable for those with some experience and those without. Register here
Red & Gold II – an off-site exhibition

‘Red & Gold II’ is the second off-site installation commissioned by ICE. It will feature site-specific works installed in the Golden Ball pub in Bishophill. The commissioned artists are all studying for a Masters in Fine Art at York St John University.
Workshop: Cyanotypes – A Practical Introduction
Saturday 4 February, 9am – 3pm, cost £45 (max 8)
Learn about the process of making cyanotypes – the earliest form of photography – in this one-day workshop led by experienced photographer and cyanotype artist Alun Kirby. This introductory workshop will lead you through the entire cyanotype process, from preparing chemicals and paper to making shadow and contact photograms. Cost includes all materials – you will make several prints on the day and be provided with chemicals to make more at home. Register here
